Applied Risk Mitigation (ARM) is a scalable body of knowledge designed to help individual team members attain a higher level of physical safety within the existing guidelines, policies, or best practices of their workplace.

The scope of the course is determined by assessing an organization’s existing rules. It also addresses the reality that these rules are unlikely to be followed by an external actor.

Ultimately, ARM represents an extension of both loss prevention and human resources. This is because participants more clearly understand plausible scenarios and their potential outcomes. ARM is not intended to influence policy, although open discussion may prompt productive changes.
